What a wonderful book -"Red Circle". I read it cover to cover during a recent plane trip. Although I knew some of the history of the Mao years, this story makes this period very real and personal. Red Circle is a testament to the horror and ultimate triumph of the Chen family and millions of other Chinese families. "Red Circle" clearly articulates the evil that can happen when truth and honesty are suspended in support of authoritarian ideology.
